High School Sailing
The Golden Isles has two public high schools, Brunswick High and Glynn Academy, that have sailing teams. The teams compete in Club 420 sailboats in the South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association (SAISA) http://www.saisa.org/. The Golden Isles Sailing Club supports the high school sailing programs through coaching, boat repair and maintenance, regatta organization and numerous other details associated with competitive sailing and young people. The Glynn Academy and Brunswick High teams train, travel and practice together, but compete as separate teams. Their training waters are in the East and Turtle Rivers. One of the goals of the Golden Isles Sailing Club is to support area high school sailing programs in an effort to expand interest in sailing to future generations.
